The aim of this paper is to present an evaluation and monitoring tool developed by Fraunho-fer ISI to determine the contributions of research projects to solving the major challenges associated with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With the help of this tool, it is possible to identify factors that promote and hinder the generation of "impact", which can then be used to make strategic adjustments to research projects at an early stage.
