High school dropout rates in Mexico, particularly in the border city of Tijuana, remain persistently high, perpetuating cycles of poverty and inequality and hindering regional development. While national statistics outline the problem, there is a need for granular, context-specific research into the underlying socioeconomic causes within Tijuana's unique border environment.
